Suggestions for the letter

Done by: Jeslin Pea

What do you see as problems in the playground?

The playgrounds now are more meant for normal children. It is considered dangerous for people with other abilities and it is not very convinent for them. Especially for disables children, they would not play most of the items in the playground like swing and slide. They would have difficulty playing without someone's help. The playground is also too physical intense for many special groups of children like children with down syndrome. They cannot play like the other kids. Though people with other abilities are one way or another different from the normal children. However they still want to have fun in the playground like everyone does. We should consider about them and care for thier needs.

How can we as concern people improve on the playgrounds?

We should improve on the safety of the playground. The playground can be lower, not so high up. The ladders or stairs can be replaced by gentle slope with railings so that the disabled children could push their way up slowly. Their could also be an alternative of a low height stairs. It could let the children with down syndome to learn to climb the stairs slowly. The slides could also have high railings that they could hold as it may reduce thier fear when sliding down. The playground could also have some simple and relaxing games for them to learn new things and interact with other children there.

In what way can you make the playgrounds more appealing and accessible for the different target groups?

The colours of the playground can be brighter as colours could brighten a children's day.The playground should not be built at one place where all the disabled childen are. They should be open to the world and make more new friends.
